The fuel-saving and emissions benefits of hybrid technology have long been recognised in the car industry. Now Hino has developed, and is looking to bring to market, a hybrid diesel-electric engine for its light-duty trucks
Hino’s unique hybrid engine features both a diesel and electric engine with a combined capacity of four litres. The electric motor works primarily in city driving, while the diesel engine runs on highways (constant speed). The reduction in usage of the diesel engine instop/start or city driving ensures substantial reductions in fuel consumption. The electric motor also enhances driveability by providing instantaneous torque from launch.
*Features listed may not apply to all models in range. For specific information, download specifications for model required
